Urgent Gate Service

Gates stuck open or shut, hit by a vehicle, knocked off their track or hanging from a broken hinge.

Call (720) 780-9549

If anyone is hurt or trapped in danger, call 911 first; for a gate that is stuck, broken or leaving a property open, call us and say what the gate is doing.

Some gate problems can wait for a routine visit. Others leave a property open, shut people in or out, or leave a heavy gate hanging where it could fall, and those are better handled by phone than by a written request.

Situations That Cannot Wait

Each of these leaves people at risk, a property unsecured or a heavy gate that may move on its own.

Gate emergencies
SituationWhy it can’t waitWhere to go next
Gate stuck open The property is open to anyone, and at an apartment complex or business lot the whole site stays unsecured until the gate closes Call (720) 780-9549
Gate stuck closed People and cars are shut in or out, including residents, deliveries and emergency vehicles Call (720) 780-9549
Vehicle hit the gate A bent leaf, post or operator can give way, and a damaged gate may move unpredictably if it is run again Call (720) 780-9549
Gate off its track A slide gate off its rollers or track can tip or fall, and running the operator can drag it further out of line Call (720) 780-9549
Broken hinge or post A leaf hanging from one hinge, or a leaning post, can let the gate drop without warning Call (720) 780-9549
Opener dead after a power outage The gate stays where it stopped, open or shut, until the power returns or someone frees it with the manual release Request a Quote
Forced or vandalized gate A broken lock, bent latch or damaged keypad can leave the gate unable to close or lock, and the property open Call (720) 780-9549

Urgent or Routine

When it is hard to tell whether a problem can wait, four questions settle it. A yes to any of them means call now; if every answer is no, a request will do.

Gate Urgency Check

Is anyone trapped by the gate or at risk from it?
Is the property unsecured because the gate will not close or lock?
Is the gate blocking the way out for people or vehicles?
Is the gate damaged, leaning or unstable?

Answer the four questions, then press Check Urgency.

Gate Emergency Calls

What counts as a gate emergency?

Anything that puts people at risk, leaves a property open or shuts people in or out, and any gate damaged badly enough that it could fall. A gate that is noisy, slow or awkward but still opens, closes and locks can usually wait for a normal repair visit.

Should I call 911 or a gate company?

If anyone is hurt, trapped or in danger, call 911 first. Once everyone is safe, call us about the gate itself, and report a break-in or vandalism to the police as well.

What details should I give on the phone?

The address, the type of gate and whether it is automatic, and what it is doing now: stuck open, stuck shut, leaning or off its track. Say whether anyone is shut in or out, whether the operator still has power, and what happened just before, such as a storm, an outage or a car.

Can I keep using a gate that was hit?

Not until it has been checked. A gate that still moves after a hit may have a bent frame, a cracked weld or a damaged operator, and running it can make the damage worse or bring the gate down. Leave it where it is and call.

While You Wait

Skip any step that would put you near a gate that could move or fall.

  • Keep people, pets and cars clear of the gate and its path, especially a gate that is leaning, off its track or hanging from one hinge
  • Don’t force the gate: pushing against a motor, a jammed roller or a slide gate frozen into its track after a snowstorm can bend the frame or strip the gears
  • Use the manual release only if you know how, and only on a gate still sitting on its hinges or track, since a damaged gate can swing or roll once it is freed
  • Switch the operator off at its power switch or breaker if you can reach it safely, so nobody runs a damaged gate by remote or keypad
  • Note the damage: photograph the gate, the posts, the operator and anything that hit it, and write down when it happened

Photos taken now help later too. Email them to manager@speergatesdoors.com with the address and a line about what happened.

When nobody is at risk and the gate is secure, the details can go in a request instead of a call.
